Tigers Lose QF to UBC by 24

The UBC Thunderbirds ended their first round losing streak at nationals with a convincing 78-54 win over the Dalhousie Tigers. UBC lead for much of the game, including by 17 at the half, and outscored the Tigers in each of the four quarters.

The upside of being a shooting team is that you can score a lot of points quickly - like in the third quarter against StFX - but when you are off, things can go badly in a hurry.

The Tigers were lead by Josh Beattie and Simon Farine who each scored 11 points. The Tigers as a team shot 36% from the floor, and were 4 for 13 from three point range, they also were out rebounded by UBC 42-26.

Dalhousie will now play in the consolation round against the #7 seed Concordia Stingers on Saturday at 12:30pm.
